Some wedding days just have a certain glow about them, and Charlie’s was one of those from the very first moment. I arrived to find her surrounded by her closest friends, her mum, and her sister — that lovely mix of excitement, nerves, and laughter filling the room as everyone helped her get ready. It was one of those mornings where you can feel how loved someone is just by watching the people around them.

Once everyone was ready, they made their way to St John’s Church in Blackfordby — a place that clearly holds a lot of meaning for the family. There’s something special about photographing a ceremony in a church that’s woven into people’s lives and memories. You could feel that connection as Charlie and Matt stood together, sealing their marriage in front of the people who matter most.

The church was full of family, friends, and plenty of joy… and of course Bonnie, the ever-enthusiastic springer spaniel, who seemed determined to be part of every moment. She definitely added her own charm to the day.

After the ceremony, everyone headed over to The Glade at Rosliston Forestry Centre. It’s such a gorgeous spot — relaxed, natural, and perfect for a celebration that’s all about being together. The afternoon rolled into good food, heartfelt speeches, and that lovely in-between time where people mingle, laugh, and soak in the day.

As evening arrived, things shifted into full-on fun. Music filled the space, the energy lifted, and yes — there was bull riding. Nothing quite says “wedding entertainment” like watching guests try to stay on a mechanical bull while everyone else cheers them on. It made for some brilliant photos and even better memories.

By the time I packed up my cameras, the forest was glowing with fairy lights, laughter, and that unmistakable feeling of a day well celebrated. It was a joy to photograph from start to finish thank you both for having me xx
